I am having similar issues, though more detailed, I was in the ios9 beta and everything worked up until 9.1 release when I no longer could make phone calls immediately following the beta ios9.1 update, well I could, but everything including the dial sound was in Deep Throat sounding, did not matter whether calling out or incoming, same result, SO i took it to Apple to get wiped as it would not allow me to restore my phone on my iMac either. I am now on the new iOS 9.0.2 as of this morning and I lost MORE features which also seems to Coincide with El Capitan installation:

Several issues:

*Can NO longer make phone calls through my iMac, even though it says I can. the phone option disappears when selecting a contact or inputting a new one.

*When Texting is being used, my 'Text Short Cuts' that I Love, No Longer work ON the IMAC, but still work on the phone when texting. This also used to carry into my gmail account and that no longer is the case either. ***Note Everything worked fine with my IOS9 Beta but not after El Capitan update.

*Overall, the iPhone to iMac experience is now a 'IT Just DOESN'T Work' instead of 'it just works' NO LONGER THE CASE, Currently.

Also, Everything is slower that does work on the iPhone to IMac. definitely thinking ElCapitan is the issue.

Anyone else? I know there are a few other glitches

I am having the same issues - making & receiving calls on the iMac used to work brilliantly, but since installing the latest upgrade, it has stopped working entirely. Oddly, iMessages still seems to work ok. Also, I, too, find that since the upgrade there seems to have been a general slow down in performance. I can live with it being a tiny bit sluggish, but the fact that the FaceTime no longer works using the mobile, is a huge disappointment. El Capitan ?? More like El Crapitan.

I was having the same issue. Actually, it was just like described by Madmad: Re: "iPhone Cellular Calls" Disappeared on OS X El Capitan

This helped me to get it working again:

  1. Turned off Bluetooth
  2. Removed file: /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
  3. Turned Bluetooth on
  4. Signed out of iCloud on my Mac
  5. Signed out of iCloud on my iPhone
  6. Signed in to iCloud on my iPhone
  7. Signed in to iCloud on my Mac

From this post: Re: Handoff and AirDrop not working in El Capitan

Hi

The procedures described by poveira from Madmad worked for me.

I don't know if deleting the Bluetooth file was necessary but I did it anyway. Signing out of iCloud is always a bit scary because of all the 'Do you want to Delete xxx?' messages that come up. But I went ahead and now making and receiving calls via my Mac is working fine again.

This helped me as well. I had to screen share with another mac on the network as I only have bluetooth connected mouse and track pad. So when you turn off bluetooth the only way to control your mac is via another mac screen sharing. Once I deleted the bluetooth plist and did the sign off and sign in in iCloud, the "calls with iPhone' button appeared in Facetime preferences. Thanks all.
